1. Acceptable Use

Kharcha Pani is a personal financial tracking tool designed to help individuals manage their expenses, income, investments, budgets, and financial goals.

The Service is intended for:

• Personal financial management and budgeting
• Tracking investments, subscriptions, and financial goals
• Receiving AI-powered financial insights and recommendations
• Understanding Indian tax implications and planning

You agree NOT to use the Service for:

• Commercial or business accounting for entities other than yourself
• Automated scraping, data mining, or reverse engineering
• Distributing malicious content, malware, or spam
• Impersonating another person or entity
• Any activity that violates applicable Indian laws or regulations

3. Account Responsibility

• You own your data. All financial entries and configurations you create belong to you.
• You are responsible for accuracy. The Service does not verify or validate any data you enter.
• You are responsible for account security. Keep your credentials confidential.
• Report unauthorized access immediately via email to hello@rahuljangir.work.
• Age requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service.
• One account per person. Do not create multiple accounts to circumvent any restrictions.

4. AI-Powered Features

The Service uses Google Gemini AI to provide smart categorization, financial insights, anomaly detection, and the conversational AI Copilot.

By using these features, you acknowledge that:

• AI-generated insights are probabilistic and may not always be accurate.
• Your financial context (summaries, not raw records) may be sent to Google's servers for processing.
• AI outputs are not professional financial advice.
• You can opt out of AI data processing at any time via Settings → Privacy.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law:

• Kharcha Pani is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• Rahul Jangir (the developer) is not liable for any financial losses, tax penalties, investment losses, or other damages resulting from:
  • Decisions made based on data or insights from the Service
  • Inaccuracies in tax calculations, investment projections, or AI recommendations
  • Service interruptions, data loss, or technical errors
  • Third-party service failures (Google Gemini, Vercel, Neon, etc.)
• Total liability shall not exceed the amount paid to us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

6. Service Availability

• We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
• Scheduled maintenance will be communicated with reasonable advance notice.
• We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time.
• Material changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance where possible.

7. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or use the Service in a way that harms others.

You may voluntarily delete your account at any time via Settings → Danger Zone → "Delete My Account". All data is permanently removed after a 30-day grace period, during which you may request an export.

8. Intellectual Property

• The Service's code, design, branding, and content are the intellectual property of Rahul Jangir.
• Your financial data remains your property. We make no claim over it.
• You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute the Service's code or design without explicit written permission.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email and in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not accept changes, you may delete your account before the effective date.

10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

• These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
• Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Rajasthan, India.
• Before legal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution via direct communication for 30 days.
• If direct resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.
